A New U.S. Department of Defense Cyber Certification Program
On January 31, 2021, the U.S Department of Defense (DoD) introduced a new cybersecurity standard, the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC). Every cybersecurity and compliance professional, including senior executives, must raise their awareness of this important and valuable cybersecurity standard developed by the U.S. DoD.

Securing the Cyber Supply Chain
The focus of CMMC is on Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). CUI is the information shared with DoD suppliers that requires safeguarding. Built on NIST and other standards, CMMC requires firms processing such sensitive information to achieve certification with this standard.
