CHP credential is the industry’s first and most comprehensive Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) training and certification program. CHP is the gold-standard HIPAA compliance certification training program. The CHP Program examines the HIPAA’s Administrative Simplification Rules, as well as how to create a framework for initiating and working towards a blueprint for HIPAA compliance. In this HIPAA program, we step through the basics of the Administrative Simplification portion of the HIPAA legislation. We review the HIPAA Transactions and Code Sets, Identifiers, Privacy, Security and Final Rules. The HIPAA mandate impacts covered entities – providers (hospitals, laboratories and pharmacies) clearinghouses, payers and business associates. The CHP Program also addresses the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH) – which impacts vendors of covered entities.

Prerequisite Requirements

There is no prerequisite for this course. CHP is level 1 of HIPAA Certification. No other educational qualifications required.

Where can I take the CHP exam? The exam is available online. You can take this test from anywhere at any time. To purchase an exam voucher please visit our Online Store.

The CHP exam is available to you online for up to 6 months. We call this a “voucher”; however you must pre-pay for the exam.

The CHP certification is valid for three-years. Recertification costs $695 and you will get an updated copy of the CHP manual and a new certificate. If you do not renew your certification within the three year period you will be required to retake the CHP exam and pay $695.
