About the 18th National HIPAA Summit
The Eighteenth National HIPAA Summit, Healthcare Privacy and Security after HITECH and Health Reform, will be held Februray 2 -5, 2010 at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, in Washington, DC.
The Summit will be co-located with the HEALTH IT SUMMIT FOR GOVERNMENT LEADERS, the NATIONAL HEALTH INFORMATION EXCHANGE (HIE) SUMMIT and the INTERNATIONAL mHEALTH NETWORKING AND WEBCONFERENCE.
Access attendees from 4 conferences with a shared exhibit hall. All conference breakfasts, networking luncheons, receptions and breaks will be held in the exhibit hall.
The HIPAA Summit will provide the most up-to-date information on the status and schedule for the regulations through presentations by the leading regulators from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the Office for Civil Rights, and the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology. Private sector leaders will add practical advice from their experiences in implementations. This Summit will focus on privacy and security with only a brief discussion of the transaction and code set changes to come. It will also include training sessions for HIPAA privacy and security professionals who wish to apply for certification.
Learning Objectives

· Understand the basics of HIPAA and HITECH laws and regulations.
· Outline the next generation of privacy and security compliance strategies.
